  • Vista msahci driver vs Intel Matrix storage?

I enabled AHCI on my Gigabyte motherboard with Vista generic AHCI drive. Should I download Intel Matrix storage drivers? Intel drivers are any better than Vista standard drivers? Thanks

You get the added user interface (windows) with the Intel matrix storage manager software aswell as the latest Intel driver.

However I have had issues with some of the intel matrix driver releases. Although the latest release seems to be ok.

As far as I know the Intel drivers are just marked as active. I doubt that the MS drivers are overwritten as they come with Vista.

Either which way the Intel driver installation takes care of everything. You only need install - no registry editing or such is needed or required.
