I enabled AHCI on my Gigabyte motherboard with Vista generic AHCI drive. Should I download Intel Matrix storage drivers? Intel drivers are any better than Vista standard drivers? Thanks

Re: Vista msahci driver vs Intel Matrix storage?
You get the added user interface (windows) with the Intel matrix storage manager software aswell as the latest Intel driver.
However I have had issues with some of the intel matrix driver releases. Although the latest release seems to be ok.GA-P35C-DS3R Rev2.0 F11 bios, E8200 (@3.0Ghz), OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666 Reaper 4GB (@1200Mhz), Xonar D1, 8800GTS 512, Corsair HX520 (Single 12volt line, Max 40A), WDC 3200aaks/5000aaks in AHCI mode, Vista 64 Premium.

Either which way the Intel driver installation takes care of everything. You only need install - no registry editing or such is needed or required.GA-P35C-DS3R Rev2.0 F11 bios, E8200 (@3.0Ghz), OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666 Reaper 4GB (@1200Mhz), Xonar D1, 8800GTS 512, Corsair HX520 (Single 12volt line, Max 40A), WDC 3200aaks/5000aaks in AHCI mode, Vista 64 Premium.
