G33M-DS2R memory problems

Hi!

I have a Gigabyte G33M-DS2R motherboard, with the latest BIOS (F8j).
I installed 2x1 GB Kingston ValueRam:kvr800d2n5k2/2g
and 2x2 GB Kingston Valueram:kvr800d2n5k2/4g

My system freezes (HDD led shine). When i ran Prime95 blend, freezes the system after several hours.
Memtest 3.5 freezes at 7 %, and recognise my system bad: DDR1142 and FSB 571 instead of DDR800 and FSB400.
My settings are:
5-5-5-18
ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD)________ 3
Rank Write to READ Delay (tWTR)_______ 3
Write to Precharge Delay (tWR)________ 6
Refresh to ACT Delay (tRFC)___________ 51
Read to Precharge Delay (tRTP)_________ 3

Overvoltage (DDR2, FSB and MCH) doesn't help.

From your images it looks like your FSB and ram speed is ok as it is running the ram at 800Mhz, but to be sure can you please post a image of CPU-z >>>

You can run this program more then once, please post a screenshot with the MAIN tab showing, and the Memory tab showing

Did you set your ram voltage? Do you have MCH Voltage control in your BIOS? Please press Control + F1 on the MAIN page of the BIOS, the screen will flash, then go into MIT Section and see if you find MCH Voltage. This will need to be increased for 4GB or 6GB, to maybe +0.2-0.3V

You will also need to increase your Refresh to Act Delay to 64-74 for 6GB. I see also in your settings listed above you have Static tRead Value of 7, but your memtest images shows 12 is in use. So I don't think the settings you list above are even being applied

You should use these settings to get going, then you can try to lower things later once you get it all running smoothly >>>>

Another thing you should do is test Each stick one by one with Memtest86+ To be sure none of them are faulty >>>

Look at Everest: Dimm voltage 1.94 V (why not 1.8?) without overvoltage
I tried before the memtest 3.5... freezes at 7%
than memtest 3.4, and passed!
and memtest86+ 2.11 passed 2 times (4hours)

You can use any of the tests for memory you have been using, or Prime95, Orthos or any other program to test for stability. Many are here >>>

About your ram voltage, what setting do you have set? You only linked ONE BIOS image above?? If you have it in Auto, and want 1.9V set +0.1 instead of Auto

I see in your images, your ram speed if good and at 800Mhz

I do see also though, that you have not raised tRFC (Refresh to Act Delay) 52 may not work when the system is stressed, but it might. If you do get errors try raising that first

Ahh ya, I have seen a few users lately reporting this board (G31/33's) overvolt ram by default for stability, and I believe one user posted a official reply from Gigabyte stating this was how they are supposed to be.

So normal and Auto should both set your ram to the same, 1.94

So did you run any stability tests yet other then Memtest86+? Just wondering since you asked about others

Looks good! Longer then 3 hours is advised, but that is pretty stable to run that long for sure.

Unfortunately i'm back in this topic.
My day:
After many days, my system freezes again.
So, i started the prime95 blend, and after 4 hours makes error.

Restart, i set tRFC (Refresh to Act Delay) to 64 (from 52).
Blend shows after 18 min again Error.

Restart, i set tRFC (Refresh to Act Delay) to 74 (from 64).
Error.

Restart. CPU, FSB, everything set to default values (no OC), and tRFC:74.
After several hours freezes.

I'm confused. What's wrong with my system? CPU, motherboard or memory?
I can't test the memories so long in other computer (memories seems to be OK, the memtest86 not freezes or restart at 7%, and my system does).

Well you do not need to keep raising tRFC and setting it to high can cause errors as well.

Please give me your full settings you was using in post #7 so I can see what was wrong back then. I know Auto may be wrong so I would not advise using that unless you wanted to.

You had in Post #7 stable for 3 hours. So you may have just needed a voltage bump or a timing or two adjusted was all. Please go back to those settings and give me them so I can advise.

What cooler are you using, and how are your temps at load when you are overclocked?

So what is MCH Now, just +0.2? If so, try that with these changes and if no luck try +0.25 if you have it, if not 0.3 MCH >>

Which Ram Multi are you using 2.00B or 2.00D?

Also, I would go ahead and bump up the vcore some, that may not be enough. Temps look fine so you should not have any problems doing that to see if it is part of the issue or not

If you want to find out if it is your CPU or your Ram that is giving you errors please run memtest86+ for 5-10 full passes then if it passes then the issue is likely your CPU or related settings >>

You can also set Prime95 to only test the NB and CPU, but setting the test to small or large FFt's and not blend

Settings are so OK? Memtest looks good. The system don't freezes today.

After 2.00 haven't B or D in BIOS.

Update:

After the succesfully Memtest, failed the Prime blend after 8 min. With these settings was before 8 hours+ stable.
What's going on with my system?

Prime Large FFT failed as well...
it looks like, that the cpu is needed more and more Voltage...
