GA-EP45-UD3R, Memory Issue & Motherboard Issue

CPU: Intel Dual Core 3.16GHZ

Went through the endless reboot issue when started up the first time. Thought could be memory so shuffled around from the dual channel and it worked in slot 1/2 (hope that four slots filled works!) and successfully installed windows. Then windows started to hang at the bootup, thought it was the Gigabyte drivers, so reformatted and tried again. FRESH install still hanging. I've seen that others online mention using G. Skill successfully (see link for model details). I'm RMA'ing the board and getting a replacement due to these issues. Heard these boards were picky on RAM so almost gave up but everyone says such great things, I'm guessing I'm the fluke rather than the norm of the experience and want to stick with this quality of a board rather than pay for an ASUS or another brand.

Anyone running this RAM correctly? I want to avoid fighting New Egg on this memory for a return and would rather keep it if it works just fine. The issues i mention seem like motherboard issues and a replacement should work fine, would you think?

I have the same ram and can not get my mobo to run in dual channel.This is my 3rd one and about to go onto #4, although it may be a UD3P flavor instead.

Glad to know it's not just me then. I'll work on getting newegg to accept return of the memory and get something listed by Gigabyte

Without knowing your bios settings or computer hardware, there isn't much that we can do.

1) Boot with 1 stick in slot #1.
2) Load optimized defaults, save current settings and reboot.
3) Enter the bios, and change the memory voltage to 2.0 volts or its highest rated voltage.
4) Save current settings and exit.
5) Power off your computer and unplug the power cord.
6) Insert the second memory stick in slot #3 for dual channel mode.
7 Plug in the power cord and start your computer.

If the reboot problem remains you'll need to run several passes with Memtest86+ on each memory stick individually.

Have you tried booting with both sticks in the second memory channels (slots #2 & #4)?

A Newegg user with a UD3P had good results with your memory.

And in addition to adding all your specifications... and ProfJim's recipe...

...copy my sig then goto ur "Tweaktown User control panel", click on "Edit Signature" and add it with ur specs...

...the following two "Information" utilities will also the most useful while solving your stability problem and after it is solved:

1. "MemSet" (Tweakers.fr)

2. "CPU-Z" (CPUID).
