  • ga-ep45t-ds3r/ds3 voltage question

    okay im a bit stumped here, i have been wrestling this board and memory configuation for the last 2 months.
    Its time to ask for help, my first question is why cant i even boot up this machine when i set memory to 1.76Volts or more? my ram says 1.9volts this is my ram;

    OCZ Technology | Products | Memory | OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 Platinum Enhanced Bandwidth Edition

    all i want is 3.2ghz(400x8), 1600mhz ram 7-7-6-24, i can drop the divider right down and prime test for 24 hours no probs, so i know cpu and fsb is not an issue here

    I dont see any point putting up my bios setting yet cus i am not at a point where i am happy with them
    any ideas or suggestions welcome

        Re: ga-ep45t-ds3r/ds3 voltage question

        Hi Matt,
        There is known cold boot issue with GB boards.
        Try to increase MCH voltage to 1.2V although this is not normally required for 2x1GB RAM.
        Also your OCZ may not work at 7-7-6-20 on all boards, so if MCH voltage increase doesn't help try to relax the timings, like 7-7-7-20 or 8-8-8-22 or 9-9-9-24 but in any case start with Static tRead Value = 10 and work your way down to 7 (or even 6 sometimes). Just try it.
