GA-X48-DQ6 Xeon Compatibility

Hello,

I've searched the forums and even tried to contact Gigabyte customer service directly, but I don't have a definite answer.

If this has been covered elsewhere, I apologize, I just need to know if an Intel Xeon X3360 will work with a GA-X48-DQ6. From what I can tell, people here are using Xeons in P45's and other boards, but I do not want to burn anything out. I can't help it, I'm paranoid.

I ahve not heard of anyone having problems with a Xeon X33x0 series CPU, it should work just fine since it's basically just a Core 2 Quad sold under a different name.

I just find it strange that Gigabyte support says no Xeons work for that board.

Well, I'll see what happens. Maybe I'll order it from Newegg, and maybe they'll let me return it if it doesn't work....
