This is going to color me the noob, but I have noticed that people post their BIOS settings as a text file in quotes. So, I would like to know how that file is generated? Please forgive me for such a beginner level question.

Ahh, if you didn't ask you may never know. Doesn't make you a noob at all really, I get asked often
Sadly, it is done manually. You can either write them down yourself or print out the template and fill it in then come here and edit a saved blank one with your settings.
