i just got a ep45-ud3p board and a q9650 to go with it and would like to know what is the best memory to get, 800, 1000, 1066, or 1100. i will be overclocking to at least a 1600 fsb if not more and want to know what memory to get.

Id recommend my own..gskill black PI 6400(800mhz).
They will go 490 (980 memspeed)(1960 fsb ) v nicely .Above that you will need v high voltages on them.
That should be plenty to max your cpu speed on air.
The silver 8500 or 8800 gskill PIs seem v good,but ive no personal experience of them.
I think newegg have matched 4 stick silver 8800,s for a reasonable price if going for 8 G

Any ram will do generally, what brands do you prefer? for only 1600 FSB you only need 800Mhz ram, above that and you may want 1066 or so. But keep in mind most quality 800Mhz ram will do 1066 anyway with just the same looser timings as 1066 has
I like Mushkins and Crucial myself, also use G.Skills. All work fine in Gigabyte P45 boards, just don't buy "Budget" or "Value" and you should be good to go.
Nice thing for you is DDR2 Prices are WAY Down, you can get a set of quality 2x2 right now for 35-45 or less sometimesComment
