anyone have any clue on how to fix this? I have tried resetting the CMOS, and running with only one RAM stick. Every time the computer powers on I cannot do anything and the power just keeps recycling.

You might have to repeat the "painless procedures" several times.
Is this a new build? If yes, did you load OPTIMIZED bios settings?
If not, what recent changes have you made to your system?
Once your system can boot, post your bios settings using the X58 generic bios template.
