What SATA connectors on GA-MA790X-UD4P

Just rebuilt using the above board and have three drives + one DVDRW(all sata).
On my last board(KN9 Ultra)HDD1 connected to SATA1
HDD2 connected to SATA2
HDD3 connected to SATA3
DVDRW connected to SATA4

With the new board I thought it would be:
HDD1=SATA2_0
HDD2=SATA2_1
HDD3=SATA2_2
DVDRW=SATA2_3
When I did it that way my drives(hard)are in wrong order in disk management in xp.
Also what is master and slave all about?
There is no master and slave in SATA???
What hard drive should be connected to what SATA connector?
