I have reset to defaults save (no turbo) system thinks power fan is failing and I know it is not. EP45-UD3R I have turned off the alarm sensor but it was OK before the OC attempt

what is the maximum temp for the q6600 ??

Did you disable the fan alarm in the bios?

I have updated my signature by request and yes I've disabled that fan detector in BIOS - no more alarm.

I believe a 380 Watt PSU is week for that graphics card and OCing! You need 450 Watts or even more!

I agree that a 380 watt psu is borderline. You'll definitely need a more powerful psu if you upgrade your video card. I'm using an Antec EarthWatts (500W) psu in my system, but my electrical needs are modest.

My backup system is housed in an Enermax Chakra case with a 240mm side case fan. I've found that temperatures are 1 - 2 degrees C cooler when the large fan pulls in outside air.

Under full load while stress testing, your cpu vcore temperatures should be below 60 C. Running IBT for 10 - 20 minutes will probably push these temps 10 - 15 degrees higher.

Ambient room temperature has a direct relationship to cpu vcore temps. There is a nearly 1 to 1 relationship (Celsius) between changes in room temperature and cpu vcore temps. Other temperatures in your system will also rise or fall with temperature changes.
