  • G mch voltage for 4 x 1GB X48 DS4

    Hi

    I have 4 1gb memory modules and whilst i have seen plenty of references for increasing gmch voltage with 2x2gb i can't seem to find anything about what to set for 4x1gb

    im just experimenting with what i can do at the moment and cannot get over 445fsb on +0.1 and was wondering if this could be part of the problem

    Very possible. You will cause no harm what so ever by trying higher voltages. Give it a shot with +0.2V and +0.3V. Also try it on +0.0V as more isn't always better.

      Agreed ^^^

      If your NB Gets to warm you may need to add a fan onto it, or redo the thermal paste under there is you feel up to it.

      4x1GB would be pretty much the same as 2x2GB, sometimes they even overclock better I find

        Not trying to quibble on details un-necessarily, and slightly off topic, but I don't think a warm heatsink points to a thermal paste problem. If thermal contact were the issue then the heatsink wouldn't get warm to the touch. Obviously if there is a temp sensor on the NB of that board, high temp readings there plus a relatively cool sink would imply a TIM issue.

        Active cooling is an option, if you can find the necessary 40mm-50m fan. They can be ultra loud though, sometimes spinning upward of 4000 RPM.
