    X-58 Ud4P Suggestions on RAM speed and Bclk needed

    Hello

    I have a i7 920 C0/C1 and a X-58 UD4P

    I have currently bought some OCZ Platinum 3 x 2 GB 1600 C7 memory and was wondering if any of you have some experience what the best settings would be, or maybe alternate suggestions to my current settings.

    I can run these in Bclk 200 x 20 with turbo enabled (4.2 GHz) and HT and everything and then the RAM speed is 1600 Mhz and timings 7-7-7-24. Then when I test this using Everest Ultimate it gives me slower performance than when using Bclk 180 and x10 which is 1800 Mhz on 8-8-8-24 timings.

    Now to run 1600 Mhz and 4,2 Ghz I need QPI to be at 1.35V, memory voltage 1.66, or else it will not boot. However on 1800 MHz and 3.8 GHz I need QPI at 1.475 to boot. Is that even safe in the long run do you think?

    I have tried to get the best performance possible out of these and I even tried to run 1900 MHz but I have not been able to boot into windows yet - not even on 9-9-9-24. At the welcome sign (Windows 7) it reboots. I have no doubt I can get it to boot if I give it some more on QPI voltage, but I am not sure what I could try to change instead of upping the voltage that much.

    Any ideas?

      Update

      I managed to boot into 1900 MHz using 190 BCLK and upping the memory voltage to 1.70 and the QPI to 1.45 I think it is.

      As those interested can see going from stock 1600 Mhz and 7-7-7-24 timings to a 1900 MHz 9-9-9-24 is much faster and even gives you a faster CPU speed as well.

      I will try to see just how much I can overclock these OCZ platinum sticks with a little more voltage.

      Does anyone run higher voltage than 1.70 and what QPI then?

        1.70v is too much and risky, to be in safe, don't go above 1.66v

        You won't really notice the difference between 1600 and 1900 in memory speed in general use

          Well I sure do notice the difference. I have read that some memory suppliers recommend not to go above 1.72V on a 24/7 use.
