    Re: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R memery issues

An update, i have changed my advanced timings to these and have 3 sticks running again, seems to be stable but still having trouble on the 4th.

    Advanced Timing Control
    tRRD...........................................4 from 4
    tWTR..........................................12 from 4
    tWR............................................16 from 8
    tRFC...........................................56 from 56
    tRTP...........................................6 from 4
Command Rate (CMD) ....................:2 from 0

I dont really know what these numbers do so i cant really explain why 3 sticks work now.

I suggest to reload optimized defaults, then set:
      Code:
      DRAM Performance Control
      Performance Enhance...................: [STANDARD]
      Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.).....: Profile1
      DRAM Timing Selectable ................: [Manual]

      Channel A & B
      Static tRead Value.........................:8

      MCH Core.....1.100V...........: 1.24-1.26v
leave all timings, standard and advanced, on auto, DRAM Voltage as now, as long as BIOS HW Monitor shows it does not exceeds the specs (see after saving settings)

A screen capture of MemSet main and SPD window may help.
Please fill your signature with your system specs and a link to memory web page(manufacturer) if possible.

          Re: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R memery issues

Try some more MCH Core 1.28-1.30v.
Try to disable X.M.P. and use 2.40B memory multiplier see if you can boot then.
Is it a spesific slot problem or can you boot with slots 1 2 3 populated and 1 3 4 populated too?
          Can you boot dual-channel with slots 1 & 3 and 2 & 4?
I assume it's two 2x1GB kits, do both work in dial-channel mode?

            Re: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R memery issues

Thanks Chike, i believe ive narrowed the problem to 1 stick, i can get the other 3 to work in any slot so the motherboards good but the 1 stick wont even fire up the cpu by itself let alone mixed with any of the others so it looks like i need to ship her back and get a new one, thanks for your help and if i still have problems in a week or two ill be back.

Probably better to replace the kit, they are supposd to be tested to match at factory.
