p965 s3 won't boot with new cpu

I've just purchased a new cpu for my p965 s3

This mb will boot with my e6300 cpu with no problems

It won't boot with q9550 f14 bios

Won't boot with e6750 f10 bios

In both cases it powers up and fans stop for a second then stay on. I get no video out. no beeps. no hdd lights no response of any kind.

Both cpus work on other motherboards.

I've used both 450w psu and 660w psu

I run xp sp3
2gb ram not sure some generic brand
radeon 3850
1tb western digital

yep its rev 3.3

and I loaded optimized defualts before putting in the new cpus. I of course couldn't do that after putting them in.

Have you changed any settings manually, or do you use optimized defaults when installing a different CPU? Try clearing CMOS, explained in the second part of this post.
