  • GA-EX58-UD5+verifying Dmi Pool Data?!

    Hi,

    last week I build up my new pc:
    -Gigabyte EX58-UD5

    -Intel Core i7-920 2,6 D0

    -G.Skill DDR3 3x2048MB 2000MHz TRIDENT CL9

    - Radeon HD5870

    -Corsair CMPSU-750HXEU

    -SSD- Vertex 120GB
    + Silverstone Raven 2

    During bootup my computer hangs at Verifying DMI pool data and after a while it works well. Is this normal ?

    it should just pause for about 2 seconds but not hang,makesure everything is pluuged in propperly inside your case,and try clearing cmos by pressing button at the back with pc off at front

      Thanks for your answer. The message -verifying Dmi Pool Data is for about 2 sec, and after that pc starts normaly.
      I was afraid that this is not normal (in my last pc- I used asus mainboard and I didn't have such message).

        yes its normal,and it should display ff in the led motherboard clock if everything is running fine

          It does vary a bit depending on what board is used and what components are plugged in etc. A 2 second delay is completely normal.

          You may be able to reduce this by flashing to the latest BIOS, then loading oprimised defaults and re-setting up your system. If the board contains features you don't use then disabling them may help. For instance I disable the Serial and Parallel port connectors, the JMicron SATA/IDE ports and the firewire header, as I don't use them. This may also shave a fraction off your Windows boot times, as less drivers are loaded at boot.
