  • P55-UD3 BSODs, need help configuring i5 VTT and VCORE, no OC

I have a new configuration that keeps failing. First I thought it was bad RAM, but memtest doesn't always show errors (it usually does on cold boot, but afterwards there are no errors).

I've flashed the bios to F4 successfully, but I still can't get a stable system.

    I have a Core i5 750 processor, a G.Skill [email protected] 2x2GB 1333MHz set and the P55-UD3.

I've read that the Vcore and QPI/VTT voltages should be my main concern, but I don't want to ruin anything and would really appreciate advice.

I want to run a non overclocked stable system and would really appreciate help. So if anyone could post a set of stable BIOS settings it would be great, thanks.

I've got a similar setup and have had a few troubles with stability

I've got the F4L bios on at the moment (was going to flash with the latest F4 tomorrow) and I've got the memory voltage set to 1.6v

I did have a BSOD that wasn't curable on first install of W7 64bit but that must have been the ATI drivers (5850 card)

I'll post back with more details of my rig tomorrow after work

    Full spec:

    i5 750
    Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3 (running F4L)
Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro V2
    G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB
    500GB Samsung F3
    1GB XFX HD5850
    Samsung SH-S223B DVD-/+RW
Dell UltraSharp 2209WA 22" Widescreen LCD
    Corsair TX 650W

I'm only using auto at the moment (apart from the 1.6v to the memory).

I hadn't really had any time before setting the system up to check the correct volts for the cpu settings (plus the last pc build I carried out was my own AMD 3700+ 64 about 4 years ago).

you could set qpi to 1.280000 and cpu voltage on "normal" setting and try that

Re: P55-UD3 BSODs, need help configuring i5 VTT and VCORE, no OC

I updated the bios to F4 today and afterwards set the QPI to 1.27v (no option for 1.28 unless I've changed the wrong setting).

I also set the CPU to normal.

I need to do the ram timing still as the ram is rated to CL7-7-7-24 @ 1600 but the bios has it at Auto and 9 for most values.

let me know how you get on,whether its stable or not, with those timings you might need more qpi volts no higher than 1.3000 tho test it first with 1.27000

Just to check, what version of Memtest are you using? The only version that's reliable on modern systems is Memtest86+. Grab the latest version here: Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

The older Memtest86 (no + in the name) gives random errors in some tests. It is also picky about running right on new tech and with certain amounts of RAM etc.
