Hi my ht link is currently at 1 ghz no matter what i do. I have 2x2 gb patriot viper low latency ddr2 2.2v "I changed latency at volt correctly after bios changed to 5.5.5.12 instead of 4.4.4.12 and 1.8 volt"
But the gigabyte website says: *Note: If you install AMD AM2+ CPU on AM2 motherbord, the system bus speed will downgrade from HT3.0(5200MHz) to HT1.0(2000 MT/s) spec; however, the frequency of AM2+ CPU will not be impacted. Please refer "CPU Support List" for more information.
This is my board, ive tried all the bioses. F5 currently, emailed support before i flashed F5 and they told me its fine to do that because they are both the same design.
GA-M52L-S3P (rev. 1.0) - GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Overview
But my cpu is a phenom II 720 be 2.8 ghz. Should the ht link speed be at ht 3.0 then?
Does my bios think my cpu is a am2? Is cpu broken or what? Should i set my memory in another colored dimms or run them single channel?
Im so confused about this, dual channel gives a performance increase but the low ht link is to bottlenecking. Sometimes corruption of data and cache acting weird.
My setup is: corsair tx650w, ati xfx 5770, phenom II 720 2.8be, m52l-s3p, corsair 2+2gb, sata harddrives.
And why does gpu z tell me my pci express is x16 1.1 when the slot is 2.0 pci express x16?
What should i do? Something wrong with cpu z and gpu z reports?
My ht link settings are k8 and max x5=1ghz does not make sence if am2+ should give me ht3.0 on this board. I think the right ht would really help especially with gpu and memory. Im thinking about getting a different board instead, but then i have to buy new ram if am3. I love gigabyte so ill propably stick to it. But would be nice to spend on something else on payday. A better board is cheap but ram and more components i dont know if i afford.
"edit: no overclocking and cool quiet disabled etc also i know about cntrl+F1 Are there more hidden menus. My bios seems pretty limited, and there are never new features between upgrades. After F2 they took away the save bios to CMOS which was a great feature for backing up settings"
