  • New GA-EP45T-USB3P help questions

    Hi Everyone,

I have new GA-EP45T-USB3P and have some general questions about how to set up the board. It is running out of the box default settings and is not stable. I want to be sure my memory (OCZ 12800) is runnning at factory design (1800), and I would like mild OC on my FSB (1600) or so. Bios indicates memory is at default 1333 and no way to adjust that value. Timings are all at factory recommended.

I would also like to increase the voltages on my memory and CPU (Q9450) to improve stability.

How do I make these settings?

Is there a link and sync settting? other that manually enter same values.

Is there a general guide floating around that describes how to set up a board?

Are the automated OC features on the board reliable and useful? How do you tell the mem values for example after changing DRAM setting to 'extreme'?

Many thanks for any help or suggestions.

    Re: New GA-EP45T-USB3P help questions

To run DDR-1800, if it is possible at all, you will need at least 450MHz FSB(1800 rated).
Please provide additional information as described in steps 1-4 in this post.
Also follow the suggestions for manual BIOS settings for default FSB.
Get the system stable at default FSB, then you will be ready for OC.

      Re: New GA-EP45T-USB3P help questions

      ^^^ yep!!
      PC3-12800 memory = 1600MHz (rated speed).
      PC3-14400 memory = 1800MHz (rated speed).
We'll see what you've got after you've provided a link to your memory's specs.

Many older EP45T motherboards couldn't run their DDR3 memory at full rated speeds. Maybe your newer motherboard will do better.
Your best overall memory performance might be at somewhat lower memory speeds with tighter memory timings.
We will help you get the most out of your system after you've provided the requested information.
