you dont need c1e,only eist but c3 can be enabled too, could be that particular bios version, some need more or less voltage and newer bios's might have dvid working better,i know it works fine on my mb and bios version

did you use +0.1625v? not -0.1625v,could need one or two clicks more than what a fixed voltage needs depends on bios version, its something for you to tweak anyway and use whats best for you

i leave llc on auto too i dont disable it

I want to use the newer bios but sorta afraid i might screw it up

if it load a new bios = will all my settings in bios remain unchanged ?

Do you have a guide using @BIOS ? I've only used qflash before.

Is it updating from Windows or before booting into windows ?

Do I need to disable HT as guide above?

I'm just a bit concern because Lsdmeasap says not to use @BIOS as per thread here http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...ash-guide.html

you can flash back and forth to any bios version so if you dont like the newer bios you can flash back to fa bios,@bios is windows based, you should be fine if you use the latest version then go back to qflash

to use @bios you can first save your current bios inc all bios/oc settings to a bios file on your desktop or folder, then download latest bios from website and update/point @bios to it and flash, you can make a note of your oc/bios settings before you update or save oc profile by pressing f10 or f11 not sure then it should save it for you, after flashing bios load optimized defaults and then re enter bios settings or load your saved oc profile

          GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1366 - GA-X58A-UD3R (rev. 2.0)

Latest bios is a beta - do you recommend me to try that or just go with the earlier FG1 ?

          There's no documented changes too

use the newest one, they dont list the changes and when they do they dont say everything so it might have more updates contained in them

save your current bios to your pc first using @bios and save your current oc to a profile in the bios, then you can later use qflash to flash the saved bios,or load your oc profile from within the bios

Just updated new bios and dvid works now did +0.1v

Is there no point running 4.0 ghz 24/7 at 1.264v vcore ?

Also are you sure if its fine if the voltage keeps fluctuating high and low ?

But damn I get some electrical buzzing noise from my graphics card or something though. Or is that my power supply ?

              Im using a corsair hx620

I disabled c3/c6 and the buzzing noise is gone now

Offtopic but i cant update my bios for my gigabyte gpu using their VGA @Bios software - what program do i need to use ? It's this card here http://www.gigabyte.com/products/pro...px?pid=3355#ov

Ahh yeah the old buzzing problem, for me disabling c1e stops it,its the CPU power saving and could be psu interference ,its nothing to worry about though, just an annoyance c3/c6 disabled will be fine,1.26v is fine for 24/7 use, remember it will be clocking down 50% of the time so you won't be running at that voltage constantly, and I've been running my mb nearly 3 years that way and no problems or blue screens what are idle/load temps like?

                  Re: Pre-OC'ing temp check (idle/load) for X58A-UD3R + i7 930 + Megahalems

I think idle is about 36 deg, and about 75 with prime loaded

I am extremely surprised with my rams though

Rams are rated at 9-9-9-24 @ 1.5v and I tighten to 8-8-8-24 @ 1.5v and they passed memtest

Are there any tips to hit 4.2ghz at lower voltages? I would prefer it to be 1.3v vcore

Should I increase the vcore, qpi/vtt, ram voltage bit by bit until i reach something stable?

best to start high and gradually lower voltages, testing along the way, ideal voltage would be 1.35v for both cpu and qpi/vtt voltage unless its affecting temps too much, you could try adding two or three clicks more cpu and qpi/vtt voltage from what your using now and test for stability

Failed prime with 8-8-8-24. Gonna try boost it to 1.6V or 1.64V ram

Tried the power saving feature for a day, computer went to sleep.

Not too keen on the wait up time to get it up to speed after waking up and playing games

Where are you at now? 4 or 4.2ghz? Can't comment on sleep as I don't use it,any errors when waking up could be BIOS/settings or memory settings, don't know if it has anything to with slow wake up times
