Re: Ud3p & e8400

If you manually set tRD for each memory channel, Memset, Everest or other programs will correctly report the tRD (Static tRead Value).

From Lsdme's memory guide:
Code:
Rank Write to READ Delay (tWTR)_______ (4-6) 9-11 (Note Actual Value set in BIOS Vs. What system Uses will be 7+)
Write to Precharge Delay (tWR)________ 3-5 (Note Actual Value set in BIOS Vs. What system Uses will be 5+)
Refresh to ACT Delay (tRFC)___________ 38-42 (2X1GB) 52-62+ (2x2GB)
Read to Precharge Delay (tRTP)_________ 3-6 (Note Actual Value set in BIOS Vs. What system Uses will be 2+)
Your current memory benchmark scores look good.

Re: Ud3p & e8400

I downloaded Memset. Its currently at "9"

Like you pointed out, Im more then content with my systems performance.

My next investment is either the Gainward GTX460 GS GLH edition. Or the Gainward GTX 470 GS edition. Have not decided yet.

Ill make a new thread regarding my next set of questions, sorry OP for ganking this thread..

@Triton05
Your thread "hijack" has provided information that will help others.
Glad to help out.

Did you finally buy a UPS unit that you were asking about in your other thread?
UPS buying guides are available on the web to help you choose which unit will best suit your needs.
It all boils down to how much run time you need for your system when there's an outage and if you're willing to pay more for superior power filtering and line conditioning.
It's also important to consider what other connected components might possibly nuke your system, such as network connections, printers, home theater systems, etc.

You may be able to run 544-12 or 454-12 with the memory at those speeds, maybe even 444-12 with some tweaking

Re: Ud3p & e8400

Heres a really good one I thought about it and made the cpu host frequency just under normal for 4.00Ghz(normal would be 445)
Set it to 444, then put the MCH latch at 400 (taken off auto)
Technically not 4.00Ghz. but its darn close at 3.99Ghz.
Had to bump up the Northbridge to 1.30v from 1.280v although it ran on 1.280v for 5 hours
Its running on Prime Blend now over 15 hours and still going

Using C1E and EIST enabled with a high overclock might hinder stability.
The cpu-z CPU screen will show if your cpu speed is lowered with idle loads.
Keep TM2 enabled.

What is your actual cpu VID?
CoreTemp will display this, as will cpu-z Register Dump (ABOUT --> TOOLS).

Run IBT. See if your proc is stable. Also what your GFLOPS are. ( Run the standard test) You should get 27.5+ GFLOPS at that speed. Anything less and your vcore is too low.

You could have a chip stable at a low voltage, but drastically reducing its GLOPS output by under-volting.

For instance. I had my E8400 at 1.30v Load and was only pulling 26 FLOPS. I did nothing but raise my vcore to 1.328v and now Im pulling 28.2+ GFLOPS.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz
Clock Speed: 4.05 GHz
Active Physical Cores: 2

And IBT testing means really little I can IBT test 10 passes even and get stability at max setting but it won't run on 6 hours of prime 95 blend
So for me IBT is not very for sure

My comment has nothing to do with stability. Its to see if your E8400 at 4.0Ghz is actually performing like it should. If you run the "standard" IBT and get less then 27 Gflops, you need to bump up your vcore slightly.

If you aren't getting 27+ Gflops at 4.0Ghz, then its all glow and no show. You might as well clock it back down to 3.6Ghz. Cause thats how your chip is actually performing. Make sense?
