  • Raid drivers

I have a GA-P55M-UD2 mobo. I have three drives. Two are in Raid 0 drive D:
The other C: has my os vista ultimate 32 bit. However, all drives are controlled by RAID drivers (Intel). I am having problems installing an ATI RADEON 4870 graphic card.
Should I change the C:driver to the Gigabyte driver so it is not Raid?

    Re: Raid drivers

when installing drivers it is advised to leave the default location as it is.

Are all 3 drive connected to the Intel controller? OS drive in port 0 and the other 2 drives in raid0 connected to port1 and 2? CD drive in port 4 or 5

That is correct way to have them set up.

what problems are you having installing your graphic card drivers?

      Re: Raid drivers

Ya, should be no problem to install any drivers with RAID and Non RAID disk.

      What is the problem?

        Re: Raid drivers

I am unable to install a Sapphire ATI Radeon HD4870. Once Vista Ultimate 32 is installed, I added the drivers from the mobo CD, then tried to add the drivers from the video card and upon reboot I had two horizontal lines pulsating color and sound.
Deleting those drivers allowed vista to boot. On the start up screen it show that port00, 01 and 02 are all controlled by RAID BIOS. The first two are in RAID 0 and the third is the system drive. At the bottom of that screen the first drive is a member, the second says SMART EVENT, and the third non-raid.

          Re: Raid drivers

Which ever drive you have or want the OS to be installed onto should be the in SATAport 0 the other 2 drives in raid should in port1 and port 2. this is the correct way to the them plugged into your motherboard.

Do not use the drivers from the cd as they can be old and out of date. You can find the latest drivers found here http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...ity-tools.html look at post 2.

I agree, please use the latest drivers from online sources, the CD ones will be very old.

              Re: Raid drivers

Usually graphics card problems are caused by using an inadequate power supply, not out-of-date drivers.

are you trying to install the graphic card drivers from the old ati cd that came with the card? if so they will be ancient by now,go directly to ati website and download them and install them, you wont have lines across your screen then
