cant install windwos 7 on x58a-ud3r rev. 2

hey im back again,
after putting my system together, everything seems to be all fine, but when i try to go install windows 7 it stalls so long, when it gets to windows install scrreen and search for where windows to be install, no drives shows up, then it stalls mie to update drivers
the hd shows up in bios and so does cd, i have not change nothin
ram kingston hyperx 1600 9-9-9-27
but default to 1066 7-7-7-20
i think its on the older bios fa
i dont have a usb or floppy, i do have an external hd
no idea if that will let my update drivers and bios
anyone knows how to just install windows 7, it sucks
finally i get my build, and i cant even do the simplest of things like install an os
god damn, i should of went with asus,
help me please

Theres a lot of people - including me - having problems with RAM in that board.

It seems to only be on a cold boot - so if it crashes try powering off and powering back on again.

Have you tried running Memtest86+ ? You can run it from a boot CD or boot USB so no need for operating system.

hmm, i dont think its a ram error, i dont know
these brands were on the listed qualify list for the board, and when i run xmp, it runs at my rated speed, nothing happens, no lights or leds on the board
everytime i boot, it beeps once, then strats normally
it sometimes doesnt recognize the hd and cd drive, those where on the blue sata
when i plug them on the sata 8,9 , my cd runs fast, reads cd fast, but then it goes to choose drive to where to install windows 7, i just cant get a drive, but when i look in bios the drives are there. i just use one seagate 1tb hd for windows. no fancy raid
what funny is it takes so lon ng to install windows, when i restart and look for drivers when windows ask me, some part of windows are already install on the hd like its already there.
also now i get no boot mgr error msg when i try to boot to hd.
i guess i have to take drive out, put on external esata box and reformate the drive with my laptop
its just a weird problem/
i set drives to ahci, cd boot, still slow, except on 8,9 then they all just dont see the drive anymore, suckzors

you should plug your os hdd in port0 and any sata dvd drives in port4 or 5,disable floppy drive from boot list and drive A from bios even if you dont have them installed,then try installing windows,if still freezes try disabling intel turbo boost

then a bunch of jibberish dasff79345r0sdfposfj
my rams are off xmp and not at stock clock now
now i dea what the f is dmi especially the jibberish symbols
no lights on mobo, just one beep

are you using the latest bios? if not i would flash to the latest official bios on gigabyte website or the latest beta bios on here

only flash with q-flash,read the guide here first

when you see keep dmi pool data,make sure you un-tick the box before you flash

yea that sucks
i can flash new bios, no floppy or usb drive
i got an internal hd connected to an external drivebay, but i can only format it to exfat
i guess im out of luck untill i run to the store for a cheap usb flash drive

format your seagate to fat32,save bios file on it and flash bios with q-flash,once flashed then format the hdd back to ntfs,that should work and save you buying a usb stick

hey , how do i format my seagte to fat32, i have a laptop with windows 7 home, when i got to manage disk and partion drive it only show ntsf and exfat, do i need some other program

edit, nvm i think i just need to format a partition smaller then 32gb, then it will be able to format fat 32
did a little googling,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, well hope this flash thing will solve my windows innstall,

sorry, newb questions again, before i even flash my bios and install windows, i want to make sure on ram timing, should o use the xmp profile, cause it set my ram timing correct but not the voltage

i know that if i go to ram setting , change some setting number to 12x it gets me 1600Mhz ram clock, then go set the timings of the rams to 9-9-9-27
but i dont get how to change the voltage, do i need to undo some auto settings to get to ram settings, and where is it located at, sorry but please help me if u can

yes thats right,click system memory multiplier and set 12x=1600mhz,then enter manual timings 9-9-9-27-1T might be better to put 9-9-9-28-1T?? up to you,then look in voltages and try and find qpi/vtt voltage set that to 1.31500v and find dram voltage and set that to 1.66 for 1.648v in windows and thats it,manually setting all these is much better than using xmp

looks like a new bios flash and everything is ok now
running fine and perfect
ill be looking for your guys help in the coming month for tweaking and overclocking
wonder why gigabyte would ship motherboard that doesnt work out of the box out to consumer, it was a bummer for me, especially for people who are putting together their first build and with no other alternative computer to get drivers and bios, tsk tsk
should fix this problem seriously
but other than that, it seems ok for now,
time to stress test this build before my 30 days run out, wouldnt want anything to crash on me

ahh glad you got it going,and yh you have to remember that these mb's are sitting in warehouses for weeks/months before they get sold to the public so you would have and old outdated bios on their by the time you recieved it
