  • What can I replace a GA-p31-ds3l/s3l motherboard with?

    Hi there,
I need to replace my P31 DS3L Motherboard, can somebody please advise what would be a suitable replacement, cheaper the better.

I have an Intel Quad core and pci-e graphics card, let me know what other info you require.

I'm replacing as I'm not getting any output on my monitor, I've swapped graphics cards, tried a different monitor and cables. The weird thing is that at random it will actually work.

    thanks in advance

Dvi cable, have tried 2 of them, and I've tried an adapter. Not latest BIOS.

It appears now the pc will not display output at any time, just correctly my last post where I said it works at random.

All the hardware you have tested work in/with other computers?
Do you need the paralel and serial ports?
What kind and how much memory you have?
        What expansion slots you need?
You may consider GA-EP43-UD3L or GA-P43-ES3G

Yes I definitly know at least one of my PCI-E cards works fine in another PC.
          I'm running 4 Gig of DDR2.
No don't need for serial and parallel.
          I only need 1 PCI-E slot and minimal PCI's.

Thanks heaps for your reply :)

Is it possible there is an issue with your power supply unit rather than the board? Random issues are often caused by random problems and in my experience (limited though it may be) faulty or weak PSUs can cause some strange issues.

Yeah i also had this thought, I was just asuming it was more likely the motherboard than the PSU. I don't have a spare PSU to test this. So I really hope it is the motherboard otherwise I'm going to end up with 2 MB's.

Well if you end up with an extra motherboard then you'll just have to build another computer!! :-)
