My Northbridge appears to be running rather toasty, over 60C most of the time. Part of the problem may be that my Noctua NH-U12P SE2 fan is a cross-flow setup (currently aimed at the rear case fan) and as such there's not really any air blowing directly on the blue heat-sinks arrayed around the CPU socket.
My question is, does anyone make a fan specifically for this application? My case doesn't really have a provision for a side fan that would get air anywhere close to the NB. There's a NB-specific fan header, oddly enough.
I'm thinking of making some ducts out of postboard and mounting a fan somewhere inside the case to get airflow directly on the blue heat-sinks.
I'd appreciate thoughts and experiences on this.
