    hi, this is my first post. so take it easy on me?? i'm building my PC. my current system is
    MOBO gigayte ga-m56s-s3 bios f6h
    CPU amd athlon 64 3500+ @ 2.2 mhz
    VGA xfx geforce 7300le
    PSU coolmaster extreme plus 500w
    RAM geil ddr2 pc5300 1x 1gb stick
    CASE antec 900
    MONITOR samsung syncmaster 2243
    HDD seagate barracutta 500gb
    VGA COOLER zalman cnps9700led

    my queston is what to upgrade to a amd athlon ii x2 255 @ 3.1 ghz, gigabyte geforce 9800gtx+ 1gb card, kingston hyperx ddr2 800mhz pc6400 2x 1gb sticks, seagate 1tb hdd. I've got all the parts so will my mobo boot up with upgrade will i need to adjust anything in bios before or after. i've email gigabyte they said it would be fine i thought i ask here from someone with expierence with ga-m56s-s3 mobo with those parts.
    second question would my psu run all this. sorry for the long post.

    The PSU should be fine.
    CPU support list show you need BIOS F6h for this CPU.

      i would like to upgrade my mobo to a ga-ma790fx-dq6. whatt is mobo like compare to my current one.

        It is better all around, that's the top of the line board for GIGABYTE's 790FX lineup

          If you are going to upgrade everything maybe a buldozer ready motherboard instead (AM3+)?

                Much ess but there are no 890X AM3+ yet.
                890FXA is 165 USD after mail in rebate on newegg but not revision 3.1 which is AM3+.

                But question is what are the OP needs. No point spending money on features that will never be used.
