  • Lots of problems with GA-H67N-USB3-B3 motherboard

Trying to put together a decent htpc for movies and whatnot. First boot went fine, installed Win7 with no problems. Installed chipset drivers from included disk and things went bad! The system reboots on it's own as soon as the os loads. Reinstalled os and it all works great until video driver is installed. Updated to the latest bios (f5) and now the usb doesn't work at all until Windows starts. A few seconds after windows loads, the system restarts itself! Without usb, I can't even use my keyboard to get into the bios. I have no idea where to go now! Please help!

Neither of the USB ports work, the USB 3 ports use a different chip?
Try removing one stick of memory, and clear CMOS.

Do you have a ps2 port ? You might need to try ps2 keyboard and enable usb keyboard in the bios, when you say video driver are they ones off mb cd or latest Intel or gigabyte ones off website? Win7 should search/install all drivers for you anyway

Don't use mb cd drivers,go to gigabytes web page n download those or tweaktown/gigabyte/latest oc tools/drivers. They will be a lot newer than those on the mb cd

Is it solved, and how did you solve it if it is?

Yep! Been stable for hours now. Not sure how or why, but neither usb chips were working when I posted for help. I had cleared CMOS with same results.

I took your advice and removed a stick of ram, cleared CMOS and usb was back. Installed a fresh Win7 and installed updated drivers from Gigabyte.

Was still unstable after installing video driver however. I browsed the forum for a bit and it seems to be a common problem when using the built in gpu. The fix is to simply increase gpu voltage one increment and everything seems perfect.

Gonna run it real hard all weekend to put my mind at ease.

            Thanks again!
