Hi,
I recently upgrade the memory from 4GB (2 x 2GB Geil 1066MHz CL5) to 8GB (2 x 2GB Kingston HyperX 1066MHz CL5) and I'm experimenting some memory errors.
The memory is paired in the same channel for each vendor:
Channel A: Geil
Channel B: Kingston
I ran memtest86 and with the memory set at the correct speed and latency (1066MHz and 5-5-5-15) I always have the same error in the test no 7. It's something weird because the errors are always the same and in the same position.

No matters what pattern is addressed, the fail is alwais in 00001000 and the fail can happen on all the four modules... If you remain 1 to 4 bit of the good value you have the bad value found in memory.
I think that it should be a bad setting in the BIOS.

Throubleshotting:
I tried to grow the MCH core voltage to 1.4 without success, I also tried with different memory voltages, and then I tried several configurations posted on this forum but without success. Tried the most of the configurations with Performance Enhance: Standard to avoid problems.
I can avoid this memory errors if I set:
1.
Defaults from bios with DDR operating at 800MHz. No errors in complete all tests.
MCH Core: 1.1
DRAM Voltage: 2.2
Latency: 5-5-5-15
All the rest: Auto
Performance Enhance: Turbo
2.
MCH Core: 1.4
DRAM Voltage: 2.3
System Memory Multiplier: 3.33D (1000)
Latency: 5-7-7-15
TRead: 6
Memory Profile: 1066
Performance Enhance: Turbo
In this option used a DRAM profile not according to CPU FSB.
3.
MCH Core: 1.4
DRAM Voltage: 2.2
System Memory Multiplier: (800)
Latency: 4-4-4-12
Performance Enhance: Xtreme
Do you have any idea to try and run the memory in 1066MHz?
If not, what of the three options that I'm abble to run without errors should be the best looking to performance?
A lot of thanks!
