Hope I can find the answer to a possibly very expensive question.
I accidentally shorted my Odin GT (800W). I shorted the 5V and 12V. The system had been running for 3+ years. Stupid mistake I know. Now the system won't boot...at all. I've changed the PSU but there's no change. The red LED is the CPU temp L2 one. I've been through all the troubleshooting I've been able to search for. The only thing I haven't done is try another mobo or try my CPU (i7 965) in another system.
What I want to find out is whether the CPU is fried or the mobo? When I turn on the PSU all the fans come on for a second and then go off and stay off. Mobo is currently out of case and on the bench. IF I remove the CPU and start the system, same symptoms. How can I determine whether it's the MB or CPU.
Cheers.
