  • Gigabyte UD9 Posting stuck at 50%, Emergeny!!!

    Hello,

I recently benched my CPU on Prime95 for about 15 hours. This computer I have had working fine for about a year now.

Passed all tests. My memory is also good. Check my signature for more details.

    Now the problem...

I wanted to run Memtest 86+ because I haven't in quite some time. I went into my BIOS and changed my boot device to CD-ROM.

All of sudden my computer would only post to 50 percent on the Motherboard. Meaning the motherboard read out was: 50 on the error code indicator.

I shut off my computer via holding down the power button. Tried to reboot. Same thing. Cleared CMOS. Same thing. Stuck at the Gigabyte UD9 Splash Screen.

What do I do now? Would removing the battery from my motherboard help this situation? What the hell is going on!!! My computer was working fine seconds ago, I hope I don't have to RMA the board.

Title should be changed to Emergency...

Did you set your OS as first boot device and set raid if u were using it after clearing cmos? Tried windows cd start up repair? If that fails try mb battery removal for 30mins,if no good then leave battery out overnight, remember to load optimized defaults and then set up your BIOS settings after you've fully cleared cmos

Re: Gigabyte UD9 Posting stuck at 50%, Emergeny!!!

Alright Guys, Left the battery out of my computer for about 4 hours. Put it back in and everything seems ok now. I finally got back to my Windows Desktop.

I couldn't even post. Which means I was stuck at the DEL: Enter BIOS F12: Boot Menu Screen. So windows repair would not work.

This thread is SOLVED. But still not sure what caused the freeze in the first place....

What's your voltages for dram,qpi/vtt? You don't need much qpi with that chip but if on auto it might under/overvolt it,set a manual dram voltage to what's printed on the ram too,I forget the formula for calculating the uncore freq with that chip but I think its 2x mem multi and try taking off 5,for 920/930 chip it would be 2x mem multi plus 1 or plus 2,a fixed amount will be more stable than on auto
