Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R enough room for Xonar ST and H6 sound card?

Hi guys

I am about to make a purchase for a Xonar ST PCI sound card (not PCI-E) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Tpk=xonar%20st

And also a Xonar H6 extension card for analog output http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829132015

I currently have a GTX 480 installed and it's taking up literally 3x PCI-E slots - look at the photo

Will I be fine? I am getting the Xonar PCI version as the PCI does not support analog output

I don't see why it wouldn't fit, since your 480 is only three slots and it's in the first slot so it shouldn't be blocking the PCI slot at all.

Please provide a link to the specifications and physical dimensions of your video card.

It looks like the "backside" of your new audio card might or will rub against the video card's fan grill.
Some cards have additional components on the backside of the printed circuit board (PCB) and some of these components might be taller than the solder joints on the pcb. I'd be concerned with how restricted the video fans' cooling airflow will be. You might need to consider using a skinnier aftermarket video card cooling option.

Ya, it's hard to tell for sure, but thanks for adding the actual system images.

How about this, don't you have an old PCI card around the house in another PC? If you do stick it in there and see how it fits. If not, see if you can borrow one from a friend or neighbor's older PC, then you can just stick the PCI card in there and see for sure.
