Hard drives only show on that page up in IDE mode, so no drives in AHCI or RAID is normal as mentioned above!

Re: GA-EX58-UD4P Looking to add a SSD

        Aside from all the above:
I would recommend treating your ssd as 2/3 of its capacity to maintain maximum performance.
The reasons you cant use full capacity are posted elsewhere and I have only a 60GB .
If you store more than 80GB on yours and performance starts to decline that could be a cause.
Marvell:tried mine on it ,there is an abysmally slow boot time, which kinda negates the ssd thing but aside from that it seemed to work ok.

What are your thoughts on ssd caching on newer sata3 z68/p67 as opposed to installing whole OS on the ssd? I've seen very good results only a very slight dip in figures, plus you still have all your mechanical hdd space to use without re installing your OS

Re: GA-EX58-UD4P Looking to add a SSD

              Me.
only got 300/300 max ssd, Vertex 2
              500/500 vertex 3 not sure.

Have exact same OS on hdd as ssd(but different drivers/programs etc). so could cache only on ssd with hdd os loaded, but havent bothered so far.
The z68 caching.. well u guys talk amongst yerselves :)

Heh hey Ivy is going to work on z68 ,not sure about p67, whats the skinny there?

i take it the raid/trim supported drivers will make trim available to ssd caching too? seeing its raid based?
