Hello, I have the EX38-DS4 and I'm wondering if someone can help me out with the f6d Beta BIOS that I see in this post.
I notice that it's a beta (as is the f6c BIOS on Gigabytes' site) but I'm not too comfortable with installing a beta BIOS.
My current version is f3 and I want to upgrade it so that I can use AHCI on my new SSD. I was wondering if someone could mod the f6d beta BIOS to make it more stable if it's not?
I've noticed that, on the site, the driver specifically updates the Intel ACHI ROM (located here). Would the f5 drive be fine, should I use f6d (I'm assuming it's further along in development than f6c), or just go with a modded f6d?
    Hi,
I can't tell you if F6d is perfectly stable, but you can revert back if it is not.
I can confirm you that F6c and F6d contains latest AHCI ROM 1.20E. According to Stasio, F6d brings support for TPM, i supposed it must be very close to the F6c.
Here's my mod with latest ROM :

GA-EX38-DS4 F6d mod (removed in doubt, cpampine has problem with it)

    Intel SATA AHCI 1.20E
Intel RAID SATA 8.9.1.1002 to 12.7.0.1936
Jmicron SATA RAID 1.06.59 to 1.07.28
    Realtek LAN 2.09 to 2.58

I'm using all these lastest ROM in my HTPC and it works perfectly (with 1xSSD and 2xHDD in RAID0).

... but no problem with it, F12u is OK, unlike original F12t...
Updated this firmware over the 12t modded version still in the Assassin2's second firmware slot, and it seems to work like a champ.

Didn't note any issues with the Geforce 780GTX card, unlike the default settings on the 12r modded firmware.

Yeah. Frankly, Gigabyte has no clue what the hell is going on with any of their boards period, at this point. I had one of them insisting vociferously that I couldn't have possibly downloaded an "F4 with a letter" from their website ever. Nevermind that I have a whole collection of them.
It's not a real high end workstation till it's got four sockets, eight video cards, and takes two thirty amp circuits to run. Yes, I build those kind of systems too.

this f12v is worse than f12u, windows 8 system reports a 4.3ghz overclock as 5.60ghz, I wish, still cant oc using just the turbo ratio, what is NON-K OC? what does it mean, as it does nothing when I enable or disable. EDIT: Well would you believe it, they sent me a beta bios f12w, says fixed cpu ratio in MIT, hmmm, I wonder if this one will make windows 8 system report correct OC, could I get a mod for this one please, https://www.dropbox.com/s/777fehqiw8scxog/g1assas2.rar ,

Yay, thanks Virtualfred, your awesome and quick, I think I know the reason for wrong reported oc in system, and why turbo ratio cant be used for overclock, I remember having to disable the option for overclocking from within the OS, well that option is no longer there, so I cant disable it. EDIT: No change from f12v from what I can see, thanks for the mod.
