  • undervolting i5 2500k

Hi, I'm wondering if I undervolted my 2500k with my Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 with bios version FD correctly.

So far I have set "internal CPU PLL overvoltage" to disable, have set "cpu vcore" to normal, and changed "dynamic vcore" to -0.175v.
Everything else is at default settings.
    CPU-Z reports 0.720v @ idle and 1.032v @ full load.

Is what I have done the proper/safe/best way to undervolt my cpu?

    Thanks!

thats the best way, dvid will reduce load voltages,it will also lower idle voltages very slightly

I'm also curious, can i lower other voltages in the bios?

Like "CPU PLL", "graphics core", or "qpi/vtt voltage"?

I'm also wondering, can I lower other voltages in the bios by changing them from auto to a specific voltage?

Like "CPU PLL", "graphics core", or "qpi/vtt voltage"?

aslong as your pc remains 100% stable full load, then you can use as little voltages as possible

Like wazza said as long as your system is still stable keep lowering votages. You should be testting your system with LinX or IBT or Prime95 to make sure the system is stable at full load.

So generally "auto" will set the voltages higher than actually needed just to keep the system stable?

                  Re: undervolting i5 2500k

yes but some times auto can set voltages not high enough. This is why we suggest that even if your running stock or before you start to overclock set all voltage manually and test.

Ok thanks for the help. I've been testing various voltages over the past few days.
