Dare say knowing companys i will just get the standard reply they will pass on my message to the relevant team but i dare say i will hear nothing more but i'll give them a go.

I had hoped for some sort of direct contact.

In the Bios " Bios Features / Boot Options " there should a be a Lock / Unlock state so you can hard fix and permanently save the boot priorities and the Peripherals names.

As it stands it only keeps what is plugged in but if you use different external USB drives or hot swap bays it changes the options due to being in a auto detect state so your optical drive is no longer the 1st in the boot order and you can't expect family members or those that are not very good with computers to either keep going in the Bios and changing the settings or using F12 for the boot sequence as the autoexec.bat of a backup disk is no longer valid for example as the drives are in a different order.

Sorry for the late reply...

That would be a very nice feature, but every Gigabyte board I have owned, the boot order always changed if you added or removed usb drive or changed drives.

Now if you save a profile with boot drive configured x,y; and then changed them to to z,y,x. When you load the profile it should change them to x,y,z as x and y were in the profile and z was not so it should go last.

I might be able to pass thing along to my contact at Gigabyte. If you could please edit your profile and add in your pc specs and/or fill out your forum sig with a detailed list of your hardware, IE make/model of motherboard, current bios version. That is all I will need but please fill out the rest.

The more info you can give to me to pass along the better.

Glad to hear you think it's a great idea aswell as i know it's also been an annoyance to others aswell over the years with boards and i had hoped that now they have the power of UEFI and the extra bios space they could add a option to save it.

I never filled out my profile specs as i'm between builds and mostly using a laptop until i upgrade but the computer in question is just a cheap quiet low powered general broswer i built for a friend but he keeps messing up his boot order and he is not very computer literate so i have to keep doing it for him though it would be something of use to us aswell.
