Re: Problem with UD5H & new gpu
Just for an update.....I contacted Gigabyte and they said to boot with no gpu cards installed using the onboard graphics.....and set the PCI Oprom to Legacy. Then save settings and stick the 7950 in.
Alright, I thought it seemed like great advice since I forgot to even check it. But it didn't work......
I sent them another message, will wait to see what they say.
I tried removing the battery for an hour or so and left the psu unplugged all night and repeating the procedure but no go.
Same thing, I can stick another card in the second slot and the 7950 in top slot works fine. Just freaking weird.
If Gigabyte doesn't come up with a fix I may reinstall F14 bios and try again. Currently the latest beta bios is installed. I don't understand why the board won't revert to defaults and recognize the 7950. I ALWAYS boot the first time with a graphics card on a new motherboard so the system will recognize it right off.
