    I would be tempted to try:

    LLC = Enabled
    Cpu Vcore = 1.34
    VTT = 1.28
    Keep in mind that this suggestion is my best SWAG.

      Most of the time I can live without you posting your most recent full bios template.

      When you don't include an ET6 screen-shot, you're wasting my time.

      We don't have access to your notes or logs, so it would be helpful if you briefly noted each of the bios changes, such as:
      • Changed Cpu Vcore from 1.39375 to 1.40000

      When you only make a few bios changes, instead of reposting the full, previous bios template, include a link to the post that shows the previous bios template. Use whatever is easiest for you AND provides us with all the details.

        Sorry for the lack of ET6 screenshot Jim, it was really late and I had to be up early for work but I thought I might as well try running a test while I slept and I thought I'd saved it but obviously I hadn't... :/ I will try to be more selective with my BIOS update posts!

            Same SWAG settings plus FSB = 408 and MCH core increased to 1.26:

            Going to bed for now, it would be really nice to start passing some large FTT tests sometime soon! lol

              Another fail this time 408MHz, vcore = 1.35, VTT = 1.30 (only changes from last post):

              I'm starting to think 3.8 is as good as it's gonna get...

                This time I changed the memory strap from Auto to 2.00D in addition to the above changes.

                Still failed after 17 minutes :(

                  I'm having numerous issues when overclocking higher than 3.60GHz.

                  This is a list of things that I'm going to try:
                  1. custom Large FFT test using FFT sizes 128K to 4096K with Run FFT's in-place disabled and Memory to use (in MB) = 1600
                    note: this test is similar to running the standard Blend test without testing FFT sizes less than 128K
                  2. boot using IDE mode
                  3. test with 8GB of OCZ Reaper PC2-8500 memory
                  4. test with 8GB of Mushkin PC2-8500 Blackline memory
                  5. test after flashing with the last standard F10 bios instead of the current F11d mod bios
                  6. test with my Q9650 using my P35-DS4 rev:2.0 motherboard

                  I expect that this is going to take a while.

                  I don't have any other suggestions.

                    Two 3.825GHz test failures to report:
                    1. custom Large FFT test
                    2. booting with IDE mode instead of RAID mode

                    The next test will replace the HyperX T1 memory with OCZ Reaper memory.

                    I've added a sixth test to the list; Q9650 + P35-DS4 with 8GB or memory.

                    Editorial comment: my current 3.50GHz is good, but I want an even gooder 3.8GHz setup.

                        Dunno if it's just my current system (temporarily using Q6600), but I just can't get EP45T-UD3R stable above 450FSB no matter what I do. It doesn't POST above 465FSB and randomly freezes in windows at 452-465Mhz range. it's much better than my old P5QC, but I'am just sick and tired being hunted of those issues when not a single logical solution works :D
                        Increasing-decreasing voltages/tweaking GTLs/adjusting clock skews/loosening timings and tRD/underclocking RAM. None of it helps.

                          SmOgER,

                          As I recall, you posted only one screen-shot a while back with some details about your EP45T setup.
                          With over 560 posts in this thread so far, I can't (and won't) go looking for detailed information about your system.

                          My main question involves your memory kit, is it on Corsair's compatibility list for your motherboard or in the EP45T-UD3P QVL list?

                          Which bios version are you using?

                          Have you checked for a modded or beta bios in the http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...fied-bios.html or http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...beta-bios.html threads in the TT Gigabyte forum?

                          In the http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte...r3-1600-a.html thread, the OP had difficulty getting a compatible memory kit from G.Skill.

                          If you use the forum's Advanced Search feature, you can search using EP45T Keyword and the Search Titles Only option to get a list of 163 threads, where the most useful threads will have at least 10 - 30 or more replies.
                          ~~~~~~~~
                          In the recent http://forums.tweaktown.com/overcloc...-settings.html thread I posted the following:
                          From a web search, here is a screen-shot using EP45T-Extreme, Q9650 @ 4.617GHz and 4GB of memory at 1640MHz.
                            • Re: Socket 771 Mod Xeon X5460 GA-P35-DS3L Overclock
                              Ok, I'm not sure if I've been doing this properly but I tried to follow the guide so hopefully I am...
                              I've been adjusting the MCH Reference to see what differences it makes.
                              I loaded up my previously stable (without EIST and C1E enabled) 3.8GHz LLC enabled settings and firstly enabled EIST and C1E. Then I set MCH Reference to Auto, set VTT from 1.26V to 1.20V, set MCH Reference at 0.64 and then increased VTT back to 1.26V which then changes MCH Reference to 0.678 in BIOS. This configuration did not POST.
                              I repeated this for MCH Reference values of:
                              0.650 (0.688 at VTT 1.26) - Failed to POST
                              0.660 (0.698 at VTT 1.26) - BSOD after POST
                              0.680 (0.718 at VTT 1.26) - Froze when running HWiNFO and loading CPU-Z
                              0.700 (0.738 at VTT 1.26) - Loaded into Windows, currently running HWiNFO, CPU-Z, MemSet and RealTemp (ET6 screenshot taken) and about to run Large FTTs to see if it copes at all
                              Here are the full current settings I am about to test:
                                With dual core processors, MCH Ref usually needs to be set lower than the default 0.760 setting (with VTT = 1.20).
                                With quad core processors, MCH Ref usually needs to be set higher than the default 0.760 setting (with VTT = 1.20).
                                note: usually in this case means most of the time, i.e. about 95% of the time.
                                At the time Lsdme's post was written, quad core use was a much smaller segment compared to dual core processors.
                                Otherwise you did it right.
