  • GA-X99-UD5 Not posting on boot when internal card reader connected to usb 2

    Hi
I have a new A-X99-UD5 mother board that will not post with the internal memory card reader connected to the usb 2 port on the main board.
It is a six slot reader card for sd/mmc/micro sd etc... When ever I try to boot the machine it just beeps shuts down and re-starts in a continuous loop. When I disconnect the card from the usb2 port on the board the machine will boot immediately with no trouble. Once booted I can plug the card back in and the machine will read it with no trouble. Any help??

and if you hit F12 to get to the boot menu, does it come up and can you select your SSD to boot?

Re: GA-X99-UD5 Not posting on boot when internal card reader connected to usb 2

At that time it wouldn't even let me into the boot menu. I did go to the gigabyte support site and found a bios update for my problem. It was the latest bios update but also a beta. I installed the update and the computer boots with the card attached now with no problem. I now have a new problem ARGGGGG. The computer will not stay shut down when I hibernate or go to the shut down mode in menu. It shuts off for about 15 seconds and re-starts again. I don't know if it is a coincidence and it's an OS problem or the bios update caused it.
