G1 Sniper 2 rev 1.0 wont boot with GtX 1070

Hi, the title says it all really. Just installed my nvidia GTX 1070 and the PC just sits at the splash screen, cannot enter bios or get past post.

I've cleared cmos, disabled integrated graphics and set the relevant bios settings related to graphics.

I'm convinced this is bios compatibility issues. I'm using UEFI bios version U1c that was posted here by Stasio.

I'm using this mobo . I know it's a few years old but it should happily work with the 1070. Really could do with a bios update to add compatibility but as I doubt that will happen I'm hoping someone here could suggest something to get this working.

Turns out that the workaround was to switch PCI ROM to legacy mode. Hey presto , up and running. Of course a newer UEFI from Gigabyte would be better though.
