  • What is the connection?

Can someone explaine me what is the connection between overclocking and changing the voltege. In what changing the voltege can help when overclocking, it's just make it hoter...?

Yes it makes the processor run hotter due to more power running through the millions of transistors of the chip. The way it works is the processor runs scads of instructions throughout its core. When you begin making things run faster than normal (ie. overclocking), these signals can become confused and this causes system instability. The added power helps provide a stronger data signal that allows you to overclock to a higher speed since the signals are now being properly read across the processor core. Simplistic explanation, but that is the brunt of the idea behind it.

Of course, some processors still won't overclock well. It has a lot to do with luck much of the time, but if you do decide to increase voltage, make sure to monitor system temperatures and cool accordingly.
