  • Not sure If I want to OC my rig right now

    Hi all
I am interested in the software that you guys use to monitor the system.

    I have a liquid cool Q9450 on a P5n-d with 2 9800gtx and 8 gig ddr2.

I just put in the 2nd 9800gtx last night

I just flew a Tom Clancys H.A.W.K. mission it worked well.

Iam just wondering if I could cook anything, I can not aford to do that.

So I am thinking that you guys must use some kind of software that lets you monitor system info.

Could I get some names of software that you guys use please

Re: Not sure If I want to OC my rig right now

OK. The Program I use to monitor temps is Called Real Temp. You can get it here Real Temp - CPU temperature monitoring
Also you should get CPU-Z CPUID to monitor your CPU frequency and also its got RAM info and some other good stuff. These are both free and very small programs. I would not recomment using any form of Software Based Overclocking. If you do decide to go that way do it in the BIOS. Also If you could post a full spec list of your machine, with RAM model numbers it would assist us to help you.
Another Pretty good program is called GPU-Z GPU-Z Video card GPU Information Utility No prizes for guessing what that can do. Its pretty good for monitoring your Graphics card information. Give them a go. The Program Prime 95 Prime95 (32bit) - 25.8 Download - EXTREME Overclocking is I think one of the more choice programs for system Stress testing for stability.

Re: Not sure If I want to OC my rig right now

Well unfortunatly I dont know much about ASUS Motherboards but I would assume like the Gigabyte it will have some form of tweaking in the BIOS you already have. Flashing to the latest BIOS is usually a good Idea but may not be nessacery. YouTube - Q6600, 3.6Ghz, 9600GT SLI, P5N-D, OVERCLOCKING, 3DMARK06 BENCHMARK Pretty much just have to google. There are videos out there that will show you were to look and what to do. Dont use the setting in this video it is just an example.

Yeah Those temps are good. Run Prime 95 And see what your CPU gets to in realtemp.
