  • i7 3770K, Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H @ 4.8GHz

    I've had a play about with my new computer and managed to nearly get 4.8GHz out of it . It runs alright but when i run Prime95 for about 3 mins some errors show up. It doesn't seem to affect the running of the computer but i would like to get it stable under stress testing just for piece of mind. So far it's a very basic overclock, here is what i've changed;
    Multiplier - x48
    Vcore - 1.33v
    Disabled - turbo boost, C1E, C3/C6 state support, CPU thermal monitor, EIST
    manually set RAM to 1600MHz
    Thats it so far, i'm wondering at this speed would i need to set the LLC to extream or adjust the PLL to stabalise the system?
    Here is a little pic of when i started testing before the faults showed up on Prime;

      now is llc the "Vcore loadling calibration"? I hope so as i've changed it from AUTO to Extreme after reading the OC guide. I'm running prime now and it seems to have sorted some of the errors, only one worker is stopping due to a fault..... Where do i go from here? Back off the OC to 4.7 and try that or is there another way of trying to stabalise it?

        could add voltage in dvid,set cpu voltage to normal and add a little at a time in dvid,not much thoughalways start +0.0

          Re: i7 3770K, Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H @ 4.8GHz

          Cheers mate. I'll have a look into that sometime soon. The computer seems to be operating perfectly apart from when i run Prime. It plays BF3 no bother and plays videos and surfs the web without a hitch. I also replaced my vengeance ram with the Kingston HyperX 1866 that i won in the kingston giveaway a couple of weeks back. I won't hurt it if i leave it unstable will it seeing as the only problem occurs during stress tests..????

            should be fine seeing as you wont stress it gaming,unlike prime95

              Re: i7 3770K, Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H @ 4.8GHz

              I dialled it back to 4.7GHz with 1.30v and it is testing well, i'm still happy with a 4.7 overclock. I'm not keen on messing with other parts in the BIOS as that how i burst my last MoBo i think . Thank you again for all the advice every one.
