i have a dell laptop: pentium III 400mhz. i want to overclock this cpu but there are no options to do so in the bios whatsoever. can someone pls tell me other ways to overclock this baby??
laptops are typically "what you see is what you get".
Not surprising the BIOS has no built in faciliy, the motherboard is probably jumperless (or practically so) as well.
If you are looking for better performance the best you will probably do is probably to max out the RAM & then go tweak the OS and keep it tidy.
There may be a software solution to overclocking (like with the Pocket PC) but I'm really not sure.
If you truly need a faster notebook (and who doesn't, right?), you will probably get your best result by far by going shopping.
Laptop systems are just compact little, rather proprietaryish systems by design. For the most part you purchase what you want and that's what you have.
