  • I have question about multiplier and bus

isn't the core clock of the bus times the multiplier = ur processor speed? if that is so, why is it that my 2.4 ghz 533 mhz bus is set at 18 multiplier but wouldn't that equal like freaking 10000?! and when i check my bus settings they're set at freaking 133 which times 18 = about 2.4 ghz... sooo then can someone explain sry bout the dual threads heh heh

The multiplier is locked on most CPUs. That means the number in the BIOS means nothing...it can't be changed in the BIOS no matter what for an Intel CPU.

133 is your default bus speed x 18 (locked multiplier) = 2.4 Ghz.

It's called a 533Mhz chipset because it's "quad pumped" which means effectively 4x133Mhz data transfer rate, but the FSB is still really 133Mhz. Confusing I know, but did you get all that? :)
