  • My new Radeon 9200

    hi again ;) ,

Yesterday i installed a new ATI radeon 9200 128MB with tv out.

I was a bit disapointed with it because i only got about 20%increase in performance from my old Ati 32mb rage. Some people told me that i should be runing 100 frames per second on games like helbreath: www.helbreathusa.com, but i only get about 65 average.

could it be my mobo and agp slot thats holding back, becuase my AGP slot is only 2X:( and my CPu is 750.
On 3D Mark01SE i only get about 3900 which is bad.

    Any suggestions please help thanks.

It could be you agp slot, but however, the cpu is what is holding you back. P3 isn't gonna give you 100 fps with that card, so look into upgrading, and also your ram for sure :hammer:

If you are on a budget, you can get a Althon Xp 2500+, but then you would have to get a new motherboard and new ddr ram.
        So, thats up to you.

ha i got the same card {gigabyte radeon 9200} 128 meg vivo, from which i replaced my geforce 2 mx,

            my setup is
            Gigabyte ga7dxr
            256meg pc2100 ddr ram
            40 gig segate disk
            gigabyte radeon 9200
            sony dvd
runing win xp pro on a dual boot wiv 2k
            sonic xplosion sound 5.1

my score in 3dmark 01se is a cut under 8000
            up from 2500

first get the new drivers 4 your card an c what happens then, also try removing components and c if uve got a component acting as a bottle neck

also try formating an reinstallin windows fresh, as u may hav loads of crap runing,

            Alan
