Re: Low cards work for HL2
Knowing you get 40FPS is irrelevant unless we know what settings you have it on. I can get that on integrated S3 graphics with an Athlon XP 2200 in UT2004 if I turn all graphical settings down/off and put resolution at 320x240.
Also, is this the full game you downloaded, or just an incomplete version such as a beta or alpha?
In any case, the game is supposed to run on DirectX 7 generation cards, so the fact that it works on your's is no suprise. Plus, the P4 2.8 isn't exactly hurting framerates.

Re: Low cards work for HL2
Well sir i will have you know i run it at 1024 x 768 and its on full graphics and the full version. I'm just surprised im able to run it at all with a fx5200 64mb. Should i upgrade it to fx5600 128mb pci. And dont say i should get a new mobo cause i couldn't be fu*ked.
