    Re: all games freeze...

Well, if you are running 2.5GHz then you are overclocking. Obviously, your overclock is not stable. You need to list all your system specs and speeds/timings.
    GIgabyte GA-990FXA-UD3
    AMD FX8120 @ 4GHz
    Patriot 1866MHz EL series 2X4GB DDR3
    Powercolour HD 6970 2GB w/XFX 8800GT 512MB Hybrid PhysX
Creative X-FI titanium HD w/Technics class A 300W amp and tower speakers
    PC P&C 500W PSU
    2TB Seagate
Coolermaster 690II w/Corsair H100 tucked under the hood

As casecutter said your cpu is overclocked. A default x2 3800 runs at 2.0ghz. Any one who has overclocked theirs to 2.5ghz needs to have a aftermarket cooler to make it run stable. However there might be another problem. I had a similar problem on my other computer with freezing and crashes, i tried everything i could think of but in the end all i had to do was switch the slots that the RAM was in. If you have two sticks try putting them in the other two slots on your motherboard. Dont know if that'll help but it worked for me when nothing else would.

problem solved.... lol switched the ram around and cleaned out the inside of the computer a little wasnt to dusty since its still fairly new but switching the ram gave me 0 errors in memtest and no game has frozen for 5 or so hours of testing lol

Good show, do you have a DFI motherboard by chance? They seem to be picky about the position of the RAM alot more than others.
