Hey all. This is my first post here, and i like teh look and attitude of these forums.
I'm looking for a new video card to replace my ageing GF2MX400.:eek: I am looking at either an ATi Radeon 8500LE (on a Hercules 3D Prophet 128mb card) or a Gigabyte Maya 2 9500 (pro?)
I have heard that these cards are a bit cheaper than a GF4 Ti4200 in most cases, so, i have decided upon one of these. I would basically like to know what cards i have available to me. I am looking for a card which i should not have to upgrade for another 5 years, has VGA, and DVI out (also capabiity to have 2 monitors, one on VGA and one on DVI with adapter) I am not really into overclocking video cards, but I will always have a bit of a go. :flames:
Now, i would like AGP 8x, as i hear that as games become more developed for it, it will really shine over AGP 4X. But it doesnt really worry me. I think i have pretty much outlined what i am looking for. But now comes teh determining factor. I do not want to pay over $400 for a video card. So obviously, a 9700Pro is outta my reach
As i have seen that teh GF$ti4200 are around $350, and ppl have said 8500 is generally cheaper, thats what i want to go for. Plus i have a soft spot for ATi. (dunno why, i have never used one, i just like being different i suppose)
Anyway, enought b!tching, i will now sit back and wait for your suggestions. I will thankyou all very much in advance.
